چکیده

PHOENIX is a toolkit for distributed programming with groups in large-scale distributed systems. The PHOENIX programming interface is objectoriented. It consists in an extensible class library of group management and group communication abstractions, designed with a particular concern for modularity and reusability. By supporting groups of abstract objects rather than groups of operating system processes, PHOENIX offers a higher abstraction level than existing comparable toolkits. In this paper we describe the PHOENIX programming interface and we present a small example to illustrate its use.

Protective Effects of Extract from Dates (Phoenix Dactylifera L.) and Ascorbic Acid on Thioacetamide-Induced Hepatotoxicity in Rats

The ameliorative activity of aqueous extract of the flesh of dates (Phoenix dactylifera L.) and ascorbic acid on thioacetamide-induced hepatotoxicity was studied in rats. Sixty male rats were divided into six equal groups of 10. Two groups were controls, one treated with thioacetamide and one with only distilled water. Two groups received extract of flesh Phoenix dactylifera and intraperitoneal...

Measuring and Optimizing a System for Persistent Database Sessions

High availability for both data and applications is rapidly becoming a business requirement. While database systems support recovery, providing high database availability, applications may still lose work because of server outages. When a server crashes, volatile state associated with the application's database session is lost and the application may require operator-assisted restart. This expo...

Effect of Resistance Training, Testosterone, and Phoenix dactylifera on Gene Expression of Adiponectin and GLUT4 and Oxidative Stress Markers in Adipose Tissue of Rats

Background and purpose: The use of testosterone enanthate has increased in athletes, especially in resistance trainings. The present study aimed at comparing the independent and interactive effects of resistance training, testosterone, and Phoenix dactylifera extract on the expression of adiponectin and GLUT4, as well as some oxidative stress indices in brown adipose tissue in male rats. Mate...
